Hey bozo, many supreme court decisions are 5-4. Go do some research and let us know why they didn't divide and show weakness. I don't think you'll be back.knc

Perhaps they'll strike down the standardless recounts as a 14th Amendment violation. Since a legally specific standard has not been effectively legislated, there won't be any further recounts.

They also won't look good if they forbid the recount because they know it will make them look partisan, plus the courts generally are in favor of having as many votes count as possible.

Nonsense!

If the Fla SC violated the US Constitution, they should follow the law and forbid the recount. Forget politics and looking fair and looking good. Follow the law!

They certainly want to come up with a decision with more than a 5 to 4 majority. After all, such a slim majority sends a divided and weak message to Americans and the world. They know that.

Roe v. Wade was 5-4

The new Dred-Scott decision.

That is how I have heard the stay, and most possible face saving remedies described. This implies a decision so poorly thought out that it will stand in ridicule for centuries to come. This will be known as the Renquist court, I wonder if he will attempt to salvage his reputation.
