I don't quite get this one. Since the votes are always counted using multiple standards (puch cards, paper ballot, optically scanned ballot, video voting machine, mechanical voting machine, etc.) what possible relevance is it that undercounts are also counted using multiple standards. If a single standard is the rule, then all the votes have to be thrown out (I suppose the SC could pick one, say, mechanical voting machines, and toss the rest).

Uh Oh, now what are we going to do?

I think there is a solid majority of anywhere from 5 to 8 to not allow counting of selected ballots under multiple standards, IMO.
