Robert, I experienced exactly what you said, I know where
you are coming from!
That is a result of big government. Not your employer robbing you.

I own my own business. To get it off the ground I had to work 16 hours a day for a year. And made less money then i did working for some one else.

Now I still work 12 hours a day. During the busy season. This is the off season so its only 8 hours.

These are the figures of what My business has to pay on employee wages. 6.5% SS, 5% workmens comp insurance, 6% state unemplyment tax, 2% property tax on equipment,1% fed unemployment tax.

Those are just taxes. I have not even got into real over head yet.

However, my Workers Comp is over 30%!

BTW, Bush is two steps closer to winning this marathon
election. :o)

Happy Investing!

I have much respect for the small-businessman. As a class of people, they are hard-workers who make America go.

Unfortunately, you don't have much respect for America's working men and women who believe in strength through solidarity. Instead of seeking answers from me, you would rather read my mind and then tell me what I'm thinking, i.e. "You consider that you do all the work and they make all the money." So be it.

Re: "My business has to pay on employee wages. 6.5% SS, 5% workmens comp insurance, 6% state unemplyment tax, 2% property tax on equipment,1% fed unemployment tax."

If there's one class of people who have been screwed over the past two decades, it's probably Small Business. Your beef ain't with the union men and women of America, pal. Your real beef is with Big Business and the stooges in Congress who take their big campaign contributions and vote the Big Business line. Big Business gets the breaks; Small Business pays the freight. Did your business pay income taxes at an 8 percent rate as GE did last year?

I doubt it.
