Daryn,

Check out this PM from heinz. The guy is on the ball when it comes to this market and trading in general.
Also, I included the Fed Repo link at the bottom of the page. I strongly ecommend bookmarking it.

J.K., that would be my bet. especially CMB...i think they will eventually have to write off huge loan losses. one of the biggest players in the syndicated loan biz, and loaded with derivatives. a systemic melt would involve them for sure...

imo the best strategy would be to sell 1/2 of the put position once your original target is reached, and keep the rest in case there is trouble looming....what happened today looks very suspicious. i'm extremely alarmed to say the least.

Fun little personality test.

cmi-lmi.com

Your distinct personality, The Dreamer-Minstrel might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You can always see the "Silver Lining" to every dark and dreary cloud. Look at the bright side is your motto and understanding why everything happens for the best is your goal. You are the positive optimist of the world who provides the hope for all humankind. There is nothing so terrible that you can not find some good within it. On the positive side, you are spontaneous, charismatic, idealistic and empathic. On the negative side, you may be a sentimental dreamer who is emotionally impractical. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

Talking to a friend last night about the markets. He gets a kick out of economics. Studies it in his free time. His scenario is interesting. Believe's AG will go neutral at next FOMC. However, his theory get's interesting from here. Believes AG will tarnish the republican image by going with another rate hike in January and causing all hell to break loose. Believes AG knows we are in dire straits and was waiting until Clinton and the Dems get off the hook. Everyone will remember Bush as the president who led us into the worst bear ever. The crazy thing is, it was all thought up and implemented by AG and Clinton.

P.S. in no way did i bias his thinking. this all came from his pea brain, and not mine. funny how two pea brained people can think so much a like. :)

Short term low either today or Monday. Might be a good idea to hedge here. Looking at the Q's again.

Today's EOD failure on the NAZ and the breakdown on the DOW portends to rough days ahead. Covered my remaining shorts today except good ol' GE. Went 4% long. I'll probably regret going long again, for I believe capitulation is coming near. Still, I have 80% of my cash available, so I am licking my chops at the possibility of a capitulation bottom approaching.
