Iraq resumes shipping of oil.

Does anybody else think the length of time of the outtage was a little suspicious?

For example 12 days * 2.8 mmBOPD = 33.6 mmBO

But, if we assume Saddam was still bootlegging a few hundred thousand by his regular channels the amount of crude removed from the market might be more like 2.5 mmBOPD.

12 days * 2.5 mmBOPD = 30 million barrels

I think Saddam wanted to remove from world markets an amount equal to the SPR release of his big enemy. Could be a coincidence, but I sort of doubt it.

It looks to me like we will beyond a doubt need more SPR oil to make it through winter - what does this mean Saddam is doing to our emergency stockpiles? Hmmmm.... At the same time China is said to be building a 100 million bbl reserve - I bet Tom Clancy could have a field days with this world power scenario.
