Ylang: <<Acceptance speech? Just a second. let me pull this shotgun out of my throat.>>

LOL ... well put ... ditto.

I'll definitely be watching even less TV news for the next four years. For my real-time presidential news, I'll probably continue to follow the Slate sight for the stupid statements the idiot makes i.e. "Bushisms."

BTW: Question for you et al:

I still don't understand why the anti-abortion plank in the Republican platform exists.

The reason I don't understand is that I can't figure out how outlawing abortion puts money into Republicans' pockets.

Or power? Towards what end? More people brought into the world will become future Republicans?

Further, I see a conundrum in that if and when all women are forced to give birth by law -- even those who can't afford to raise/support other new human beings for 18(?) years -- will the Republicans condone public support (i.e. welfare) to assist the parent(s) in financing the lives of these new people?

I think not -- but, again, I could be one of those that will just never really get the jist of the 'noble Republican' ideology ...

<g>

Good day to all, now ...

Thank you for that, my friend. You've managed to express the same amount of outrage and lost innocence I'm feeling tonight.
