It would have been better yes, but the issue of harm is a basic when it comes to constitutional law.

This case shows it clearly in another way. If the election had been won by either party by a wide margin, the differences in counting and technology would have been irrelavent. And thus, in practical terms, all votes would have been treated equally.

Since it was narrow, the harm is real since these differences are in terms of thousands of votes. Real harm.

Actually that's Gore/Boiles fault. They decided first to go after Fl Sec. of State Harris and wasted that valuable time. Should have gone straight into the contest of the election. Next time instead of smearing State officials doing their job, they should do some better planning.

I for one will be glad to see the end of the lies and smears of the Clinton/Gore!

Would have been better if US Federal Appeals court had stepped up to the issue when it first was asked 2-3 weeks ago. Then there would have been time to fashion a fair remedy...e.g. state wide manual count with consistent standards.
