Ok... sorry for the comments bud..didn't mean to make it personal..

You probably know way more than I do about this stuff.. here is a question for you .. I have been following VYTL. they are a telecom company..mainly long distance.. but they are building out a huge fiberobtic network in europe and undersea to the U.S. they currently have 1.5 billion in cash and cash equivalents..(what the hell does this mean).. I found it in income statement..

there are 50 million shares outstanding and today the stock dropped to an alltime low of $3 at the close. now that puts the market cap at 150 million with 1.5 billion in the bank.. granted they are not supposed to be profitable til 2003 or thereabouts. but they are only burning like $8 a year per share, which is 400 million right...? they said that by next quarter they will have 1.8 billion in cash.or cash equivalents.. also from income statement... How can this be if they are burning cash?...I don't know do you?

at the rate they are burning cash. they should have enough on hand for the next four years and that's assuming no income from their fiber obtic network which should be "lit" first quarter of 2001.

Is this a screaming buy right here or am I nuts.. It seemst the price slide has gone beyond rediculous.. Is this what you call "paying the Piper?"...

I am honestly interested in your opinion here. what do you think?

rok

Optics..you're about 2 months late but there is still downside however I wouldn't knock an entire sector that might have bottomed especially if there is artificial intervention. Its a little late in the game after stocks are 1/3 of what they were to start shorting indiscriminately.
