Smithsonian they were planning on. They're only there for a long weekend. The Phillips Degas to Matisse Peg and I would love, but I'm not sure the boys the girls are visiting would. The National Gallery of Art sounds interesting. Maybe they can get there some time during the weekend.

Gore offered top help, and Bush accepted. Best way to take advantage of Gore's particular expertise: Make him head of a presidential advisory commission on voting accuracy and integrity. Since he led the greatest attempted vote heist in history, he should know what to look for.

The problems are several: Vote counting at the precinct level, manufactured and destroyed votes, non-existent voters turning out and swinging the result.

The commission could investigate the latest attempted fraud in Florida. Put Boies and Daley on there too. They could construct a law that any state could pass that would hold up to even the most specious constitutional challenge.

Then Bush could pin medals on all of them. Have a statue erected of Gore. With the national voting scandal cleaned up, Bush, in his second term, could get his large congressional majorities to approve the marble purchase.

And the statue would look more alive than Gore ever did...
