One right-wing priest got on EWTN a few weeks ago and complained that not all parish priests are telling their congregations how and for whom to vote Flap, I'm familiar with many instances where unions won't allow public dissent by members to their destructive left-wing agendas. If you were (sane and) a Reagan or a Goldwater Republican, or a Libertarian, would your union allow you their platform to publicize your reasoning and views? Why do I doubt it? Trouble with the Catholic Church is that it's become so focused on one-issue ... I is such po' white trash that I don't even have a TV, so can't watch Catholics expound. However, I believe that argument applies, in spades, to unions in general. If the Catholic Church is going to tell people...how to vote instead of..., then start taxing 'em Serious question, cause I really dunno: Are union cash flows taxed for that very same reason?

I see you are comparing the Catholic Church with Unions. That is a very interesting comparison. Let's see: The Catholic Church takes from the rich and feeds the poor. The unions take from the poor and fill their own pockets. The Catholic Church ex-communicates its most blasphemous sinner. The unions beat the crap out of any member who expresses a dissenting opinion. The Catholic Church taught its followers that stealing is a sin. Unions preach extortion to its members during contract talks. The Catholic Church built and ran many of our hospitals with the assistance of volunteers in an effort to save lives. Unions beat the crap out of the volunteers because they made their members look bad. The Catholic Church built schools and educated our children. Unions are wearing down our schools and encouraging our children to become lazy morons. The Catholic Church teaches to love thy brother. Unions tell you to screw thy brother. The Catholic Church waged a war on Communism. Unions still commemorate comrade Lenin. The Catholic Church converts the unbelievers with a Bible and has them looking up to the Heavens for Spirituality. Unions recruit new members by slugging them with baseball bats and leaving them on the ground staring in the heavens waiting for salvation from the riot cops coming down the street. Last but not least, the Catholic Church passes a collection plate for those wishing to give donations. Unions get into your paycheck even before you've opened the envelope.
