Don, yep...and the 'solution' so far is that Richardson now 'orders' out-of-state suppliers to supply electricity against their will...got communist command economy?

the Bubba/Bore 'energy policy' is the height of ineptitude...

re: California, now imagine for a moment what would happen if indeed 10% of Californian cars were electric vehicles (it is planned to reach this happy state of affairs by 2003, another example of heavy handed state interventionism)that need to be re-charged every night? total chaos would be the result...and since giving up the price controls is seen as politically undoable (the utilities that are now teetering on the brink of insolvency are already being denounced as wanting to 'abuse' the situation and 'gouge' consumers if possible) no additional power generation capacity will be forthcoming.

we will see what happens to environmentalist activism once either huge price rises hit consumers pockets or regular breakdowns of the electricity supply become commonplace. i predict sudden death....
