- What I find particularly hilarious in all this is that nothing Bush will do will make anyone who opposed him happy. Probably the same would be true if Gore were elected, but that's not the way it crumbled. Nonsense! If Bush were to appoint an environmental advocate to Interior or a moderate to the SC, I would be very happy! If he were to risk the wrath of the right-to-lifers and support family planning at home and free speech for reproductive choice overseas, I would be overjoyed. In opposing Dubya I am at least consistent: I have NEVER voted for anyone but Democrats (although I do admit to having one R. friend, with three others under investigation...) OTOH, I don't realistically expect him to take any actions that would inflame the far right wing majority of his party because he's too much of a politician to have either the backbone or principle to do this...
