So TI shares IP with QCOM and avoids royalty payments, turns around and supplies ERCY and NOK with said royalty-free chipsets...could someone explain how this is compatible with the constant claims that WCDMA is just as good for QCOM as CDMA2000? Or does that now apply only to infrastructure and not handsets?

I'm confused.

For a little weekend fun, listen to both Tim Bajarin praising the Kyocera QCP-6035 and Andrew Seybold discussing AWE's future strategy.

To listen, link to abcnews.go.com then click "listen to Silicon Insights" (about half way down on the right hand side). A javascript window should appear where you can then select via "more interactives" 1)Tim Bajarin's "PDA/Cell Phone" or 2) Andrew Seybold's "AT&T wireless"
