I would imagine it's also a factor of not wanting to risk upgrading a system thats stable. In my case I've got a duel bood NT/98 system. It's a big pain in the neck to use USB because I use NT as my primary system and it doesn't support USB. So there is incentive for me to upgrade to Win2000.

However the thought of the problems I might encounter is daunting. In fact I'm totally paranoid I might loose all my work. Windows has burned many people so I think a lot are reluctant. I am going to upgrade but I've ordered a new harddrive to put the Win2000 system on so it has less of a chance of screwing up my stuff.

Right now People have little incentive to upgrade because iNet pipes are too slow. When we see Video happening over the net there will again be incentive to upgrade. In addition the fact that RAM memory has a hard time keeping up with the faster processors limits the benefits of having a processor over 800mhz. That will change.
