WB, your suggesting sounds to me like a good one. I agree.
Too much time, and space, is wasted with all the complaints
about SI and the suspensions. It's almost as bad as reading
spam!

I may not agree with all the reasons for the suspensions,
but I don't want to hear about it on so many of the threads.
For those who have them, Take the complaints somewhere else!

If there's a thread for suspended posters, a "rap" thread,
then everyone could see how much trouble some members have
been to SI, and maybe we wouldn't have to wonder or listen
to the why, when & whats about why SI has suspended certain
members.

Another subject.
I would like to have a seperate box to hold posts that we
want to save, and not have them in the "inbox" area. That
way I wouldn't have to see messages in my "inbox" that I
have already read.

Thanks!

KZAP

How about a slightly different implementation of the idea, perhaps a members suspension record or current status ( jail term and cause ) be visible in the persons profile?

William,

Thanks for posting your message concerning posting suspensions (and suspension records) publicly. Part of me agrees that it would be helpful to highlight bad behavior as a warning to other users and as a deterrent. However, I have to weigh this against the belief that (a) the suspension itself is punishment and (b) ever-increasing penalties are a deterrent.

While we're thinking about this, I'd appreciate comments from other members of the community.

Also, what if you were suspended for a post or posts that went a little bit too far... would you want your name on a thread? How long would it be fair to leave it there?

John
