sorry, you are very wrong in the capabilities and the modernization program that China possesses. i have followed the china threat for 10yrs and i'm speaking from a point of view that few others have. china with no merchant fleet to speak of has the fastest growing surface fleet that is structured for one doctrine, combat with US carrier battle group. Taiwan is the line in the sand and before this decade is over they will have the capability to take it by force. their military build up in the last 10yrs goes beyond self defense but regional expansion as far out as to the philippines. in house my family has 74 yrs of combined military service. my dad is a retired Air Force GEN. and my brother was a senior staff officer for Colin Powell. with the market reforms that has brought tremendous GDP growth to their economy they have become the #1 buyer of military technologies from russia. they have an advanced weapons technologies program that has on goal, to take the eyes of our military the Satellite this summer billy opened up the doors to china to look at the logistical strengths of our rapid deployment forces and has begun an aggressive program to expand their air and sea lift capabilities i am saying to you and others on your side of the fence, the information and details are out there if you take the time and read. this threat is for real!.
