Depends on style. One style I know of is a positional type that works off 30 minute bars.

Those guys would be Short ND from 2938. Still Short, I suppose. I never figured out how they Exit, I have a hard time with that system because of the risk.

My style is more short term, with Index trading anyway. I do not have the psychological profile to leave positions on for extended periods in Index trading so sometimes I trade countertrend. Simply because I may think I see an impending retrace.

One thing is I usually try to decide what the market should do before it opens and trade from that side. If it turns out to be countertrend then they are scalp trades, if it turns out to be with the trend I try for more points.
