Andreas... you liked it at 32, you liked it at 20, you've gotta love it at 17. I suggest you help the cause and yourself by picking up another 1000 here. El

Andreas, having worked with the finance boys long enough...they have ways of not even putting it in there.
I forgot about options, and you're right about that. But the source and use portion won't be accurate either.
I was present at a buyback at another company that was performed. You won't find it in their source and use area, though they accounted for it. Sometimes they hide it in areas such as purchase for employee options, employee stock purchase plans...etc.
There are lots of places to actually do a buyback without putting in a specific line item mentioning it. It's sad that being honest in a report is something that isn't common....but I know that Warren Buffett has been on a crusade about this very thing.

The previous buy back argument is moot(or "mute" as is so often used here, as in the "silent/unable to speak" argument jajaja)and irrelevant in that it was put in place in April 1998 under the EP regime and that it has been replaced with a new one. That was then and this is now. I doubt that MC came in a year later as a new ceo with a one year old buy back on his mind. This buy back is his to implement. I say he'll buy shares. El
