1. recession
2. poor management
3. products not up to expectations
4. other?

How about slowing desktop computer sales and being constrained from taking aggressive action to counteract it by the lawsuit hanging over their head?

I'm hoping Janet Reno's replacement will give Microsoft the option of settling the lawsuit instead of pressing to ruin one of America's most successful companies.
