As hard as it is to believe, we have a chance to be in the playoffs. Amazing stuff. The late season schedule is indeed playing into our hands. Two games hurt us big this year, Chicago at home and at Carolina. Either game would have potentialy put us at 10-6. As it looks now, we are likely to be 9-7. Who would have thunk it after the Carolina game. WOW.

OK, playoff scenario. I lifted this from the Milw J/S.

====================

"Green Bay is No. 8 in a crowded field in which six NFC teams make the playoffs. The Packers can't catch the Vikings (11-3), Giants (10-4) and Eagles (10-5), and would lose a tiebreaker with the Saints (9-5). Thus the Packers must overtake two of the remaining three teams currently ahead of them in the NFC standings - the Rams (9-5), the Bucs (9-5) and the Lions (8-6).

Here's what must happen for a 9-7 Green Bay team to earn an invitation to the post-season party:

The Lions have to lose one of their two games (at the New York Jets or at home against Chicago). That would leave Detroit with a 9-7 record, and the Packers would win a tiebreaker based on a better division record.

Either St. Louis or Tampa Bay has to lose its final two games. The Packers would win a tiebreaker with the Bucs based on a better division record and a tiebreaker with the Rams based on a better conference record.

=========================

So hope for a Tampa Bay loss tomorrow night. Then pray like hell that Chicago beats Detroit in the Dome.

Tough odds yet, but not out of the realm of possibility. Sure would have helped if NY Jets beat Detroit today. That would have been a lot easier than counting on Chicago.
