Hi all, Time to revive this thread. I tried to update the links below and clean up the dead links. As the regular season approaches I will update this header again with more pertinent information. In the meantime, a good overall season. Too bad the last couple games are the memory that lingers. Sherman sure has his work cut out for him over the offseason. Areas of need that I see are: 1)restructure the offensive playcalling authority, 2)get a true number 1 receiver, 3)get a stud linebacker. After that we have many other areas that need a little shoring up, but those are the main things that I see as critical. A comment on the number 1 priority. It seems clear to me that Brett Favre does not like Tom Rossley. In fact, with his season ending press conference commentary, it seems clear that he does not have input and perhaps was even told to keep his trap shut and do his job, not the coaches job. This translates to a feeling from the employee (Brett) that he no longer really cares and will simply just do his job. We need to re-open those lines of communication. Brett needs to be intimately involved in not only the game plans, but also the calling of plays on the field. Clearly the best situation would be to bring Mariucci back, perhaps as a dual head coach role and give him total offensive control. Would Sherman ever concede that? I don’t know. The carrot for Mooch would be the decent shot at a couple more super bowls prior to Brett’s retirement…and bringing Mooch in might extend Brett’s retirement thoughts. Right now Brett is not as into the game as he used to be, my opinion. As to my second priority, a true number 1 receiver, have we ever had one in Green Bay while Brett has been our QB? Sterling Sharpe is the only one I think that really fits that definition. The rest have been serviceable receivers and Brett I think makes them look better than they actually are. We need a true go to guy. Anyway, I suspect this thread will be slow for the time being, but feel free to post away and let’s keep it fun. -Scott Upcoming Schedule: packers.com Lambeau Field: packers.com Stadium Tours: packers.com The Construction Cam: packers.com The Pro Shop: packersproshop.com Other Information: For other information, contact the Green Bay Area Visitor and Convention Bureau at (888) 867-3342, greenbay.org, e-mail at visitorinfo@packercountry.com Links for Stories: packers.com greenbaypressgazette.packersnews.com jsonline.com Other Packer Links: packernet.com southendzone.com angelfire.com brettfavre.com Things to do while in Green Bay, including Hotels, Restaurants and other: greenbayareaguide.com A Live Look inside Lambeau Field packers.com Go Pack Go! | ||||||||||||
