I agree. The Fed needs to stimulate consumer confidence to get this ship going forward again. What better way to do it than to lower NOW, before Christmas, not next year. The idea of changing the bias is empty BS. I hope these guys are not too proud to admit that they overcooked the goose.

Actually I have modified what I said yesterday. There is a danger in moving to quickly and neutralizing everything that was gained in the slowing. Unemployment went up last month but then this past week the unemployment rolls dropped by 32K when a drop of only 3K was expected.

Things are worsening but we are not falling a cliff...the economy is slowing from a very fast growth rate. However because the rate of growth was so fast, I think it feels like we are falling off a cliff.
