Yeah, I'm in pretty deep but my position pales in the light of Michael's humungous block of shares. I continue to buoy my spirits with the notion that CPQ is on the right track to a full recovery, that this is an economic problem and not unique to CPq as it was 2 years ago, that I would have done no better holding INTC, DELL, or MSFT over the last year, that I'm lucky I didn't sell my CPQ at 18 to buy DELL at 59 only to see it drop to 18, that I didn't put my life's savings into any of the many internet stocks that have lost up to 95% of their former value, and most of all that I didn't buy anything that Jimbo recommended. We'll all get our $$$ back in time and if it was $$$ we weren't using anyway, WHO CARES! I'm more concerned that I haven't played golf in 45-60 days. El

Andreas & El -- well, El's thoughts of buying at 16/15 are not too encouraging,, actually maybe they are. No, Andreas I rarely visit here and when I do it is usually just to lurke and see how everyone is doing. We all seem to be in the same boat this year. Like you I do not look at the option $$ as offsetting losses or lowering the avg of issues held. I bought WCOM at 14 3/4 and immediately sold the 15s with 6 sessions to go for 5/8 thinking it was safe-- bingo they were gone with wcom at 17 7/s yesterday. I have made some trades the past few months and the last month I've bought funds in various sectors. Nearly all my holdings have a S/L. A good % have been hit and that is one method of protecting profits or limiting losses often used. With the call of WCOM I'll be slightly under 50% cash. Many issues were bought thinking a bottom had been found only to find new bottoms,, Looking for issues to purchase but am far from certain I agree with your pprediction of a turn in the next few weeks. Senile Al will go to 'neutral' on the 19th. If we get anything out of that which sustains you may be correct... but he will not IMO lower the rate as early as Jan,, Feb? More ugly warnings and announcements? Where will the bottom be? A little more downside on GE and I'll add even more there for sure but not enough to dent my cash holding as too much GE is already held..... Luck to all,,,,,,,
