It may truly be Chris's function to be the turd in the punchbowl of life for other people- I cannot say. I do not believe in purpose outside of the purpose we make for ourselves.

Would you like another drink, Dear?

We do inevitably serve purposes which are not our own and which we have no control over.

We cannot be in the world and not effect it in ways we may be completely unaware of, for good and bad, totally outside of our own intent. Chris is probably a good example of this.

And occasionally the best thing for us to do is the thing we feel least like doing.

Getting up in the morning looms rather large as an example...in my case, anyway.

In my personal opinion, we are never as free and independent as we would like to think we are, because we truly are enmeshed at all times within something greater than ourselves individually...the process of life itself.

Just a few thoughts in response.
