Eric, why CDG (and QUALCOMM) has elected not to join 3GPP, now that the door seems open to them.

They are now, I mean Qcom.

Eric or anyone,

1) does QC have all the patents needed for cdma2000?

If yes, while the 19 companies are debating how to split up this 5% stuff for WCDMA, all the cdmaOne carriers are moving forward?

2) how many of the 19 are existing QC 3G licensees? wouldn't they be negotiating something that they already had contracturally agreed to previously?

Ramsey

Today was the first time I have specifically seen reference to HSPDA.
----------

Me too.

I've begun digging through what portions of 3GPP that are open to me for any references - no luck so far - as you know, it may be titled differently - this is one of those times that even a tad of technical competency on my part would help... architectural skills aren't helping much <g>.. would love to find HSPDA technical submittals from MOT..

If it's true that HSPDA is a blood relative of HDR's, it would certainly quiet the old concerns (haven't heard them recently) of Q's essential IP being soon timed out with UMTS/wCDMA...
