Thanks for explaining the impact of burning oil in these turbines. I knew the literature on the new GE turbines didn't discuss oil capability but didn't know why.

OT Dirty blades

I would not worry about that quality of fuel oil being used today. It is a challenge to get a #2 oil burning gas turbine permitted. I am only aware of one plant in Hawaii that burns residual and vanadium is a big issue with corrosion.
