Well, I finally woke up Friday and sold 2/3 of my CPQ holdings. I then split the proceeds of the sales between DELL and GTW. That way when CPQ gets left behind again, I won't feel quite as bad.

What a deal! Now I can back to sleep in peace.

I respectfully submit that nobody KNEW anything. His is a tough job. I'd love to see you - anyone - do it as well as he has.
He probably thought things were slowing, but felt that the increases in oil prices were worrisome. That, of course, turned out to be a false signal.
Nonetheless, his job is one of vigilance. You - and I - felt that he probably overdid it. But I doubt there are many people who reacted negatively except because they saw it adversely effecting the stock market...not realizing his job isn't overly concerned with the direction of the market (if it were, rates would've been raised long ago).
Still, I don't fault him for what he did...it was his job.
At least now he's considering a reversal. That's a good sign. I'm certain this will be one of the softest landings we've ever seen.
