Karen,
Being a libertarian (not a registered member), I am absolutely not at home in the republican party. I voted libertarian and do not feel that I wasted my vote at all.

Poet, I think that pro-choice is one of the most elemental and obvious libertarian positions we encounter these days. It fascinates me that so many libertarians can find a comfy home in the Republican party.

I am a libertarian but I am more comfortable with the the Republican party partially because I am pro-life. (Other reasons might include the fact that the libertarians have no real chance of winning and that I would discribe myself as a conservative libertarian. I agree more with the libertarian party about drugs and prostitution (both should be legal, if some thinks they are wrong fine, I might even agree but both are not in my opinion things that should be banned by the government), but more with the Republicans on abortion and national defence.

well...

lower taxes, (at last that is what they say), supposedly low government influence. but then, you find the right wingers...

that's the time to run... that lot is scarier than a band of commies trying to take one's money.

the real fascination is to see the right wingers having taken over the republican party.

my wish list for santa is that the religious right will be kicked out of the republican party and they will take over the democrats...

well, i can dream no ?
