AMZN has been merely taking mkt share from other .coms that have failed. The overall market niche really isn't growing much. Don't believe the BS from Forrester.

WHO ?? HEY !! Whatever happened to Forrester Research, anyway? LOL !

Wasn't amzn's market space supposed to grow from $600 million in 1999 to $8 Trillion in 2002 ? Hey I believe all the stories from Forester, ya know !!

LOL !

Random thoughts:

- I think it is unlikely that the drop in sales from Etoys is all due to Amazon.... the whole sector is weak...

- Amazon will have a cash position at the end of the quarter of over a billion dollars.....and accounts payable for 300-400 million dollars....

Alomex,

This is not all random. The problems at Etoys is not all due to Amazon. Not probably not due but they are not due to Amazon. The problem is the higher income consumer had already been shopping on-line as of last year. The novelty of the on-line shopping has worn off and they are going to the traditional stores. Also, the second wave of internet users that are middle income, do not have confidence in the security of on-line shopping. They also need/require payment methods in addition to a bank credit card.

On-line shopping is topping out as I had previously stated would occur. The next phase3 will be the need for the consumer to spend more not less to shop on-line. There are not enough people willing to do that. The next phase will be the total removal of all pure play on-line stores. Ebay is not a store.

$375 million give or take five million.
