Examples?

I don't have many links to hand, but the technique has been around for many years. I think the main issue has been the relative cost of baseband processing versus the use of SAW IF filters.

ADI has a direct conversion GSM/GPRS chipset....they signed up Siemens as their first customer a couple of weeks ago. I think product will probably be available next year. ADI has talked about a W-CDMA version as well....
