Rollins said nothing of "order cancellations", but "...order expectations exceeding demands...".

Should there not be evidence of order cancellations? do we just assume that cancellations are there based on the ongoing and unending fears of analysts? the article you site puts the blame on Dell. Rollins was implying the blame was equally shared by suppliers who were unprepared for the increased demand. So; whom do you believe...?

PC sales in Japan are "booming". Do you see any WS analyst talking about the "booming" PC sales in Asia?

I don't believe Dell is sick. market analysis in general sucks much more than Dell. too many are now inventing mountains from mole hills.

Re: string of 'bombs' and mis-execution...

Be reasonable John. Compared to it's peers, Dell has done much better by far... unless they miss earnings badly, then they'll be in good company.

The supply problems related to the 8100 are due tremendous demand that has exceeded projections for the new P4 product. The 8100 is ramping up and volumes are typically low just after launch but in this case demand has been far above the norm for a product like this. Ironic because the media has labeled the P4 a dog.

This wont have any negative impact to Dell in regards to hitting their number. They are selling everything they planned and then some. Only problem is they can't capitalize on the opportunity to sell even more.
