Allen: What do you think is a reasonable amount of time to find a qualified CEO to head a company whose management was basically asleep at the wheel beginning nine months ago? I have been in business myself for many years, as well as an intense observer of public companies, and for the life of me I can see no reason why this search is taking as long as it is. If a company really wants to find a qualified new CEO to run a firm such as Citrix, there are literally hundreds of prospects who would jump at the chance to head up an enterprise with the potential that this company has. Add that to the fact that many stock option packages are under water at the firms these prospects are currently working for, and you have ample reasons to attract qualified personnel. And as a shareholder I do blame the BOD for allowing this search to languish the way it has. Who else can I blame? The existing top brass that is supposedly looking to replace itself?
