Yes, you got that right. They would tell you, of course, that you do not understand or appreciate gold's indispensable role in protecting the economic and political freedom of man in a highly liberal organized society. I don't buy into that argument at all.

The "Gold Bugs" think that when you back a currency with gold you limit economic control and manipulation. To be sure, when a country is on a gold standard, the amount of money in circulation is tied to the amount of gold held in reserve by the government treasury or the government-created central bank. I find that to be oppressive, however, and I'm glad Nixon took this country off the gold standard. I'm on the side of human creativity, human manipulation and Economic Growth.

Gold is a buy here with a nice recession around the corner, don't you think?
