Meat,

Read my post again. I said I did not think Dell would miss as badly as Gateway and others. As for the other firms you mention, perhaps one difference is that expectations (and PE) were a bit higher for Dell. I've posted a bunch of times that I really am not doing much at all in the market for some time now other than very quick trades. I'm not short Dell, but in cash, and very glad to be in this state <gggg>. As for getting carried away, I've been arguing that the bulls are the ones that got carried away on this one, not me <ggg>. I'd say we are pretty close to the bottom on this one, the question is - what type of recovery, and how long? Or, will this be 1973-74 all over again, where the nifty fifty for the most part never came back.

Regards,
John

Great post!I was a broker in 1960-saw the 1961 big drop-the 1966-drop the 1971 drop -the 16 years where the Dow fluctuated within a 200 point range-(raised six kids during that period and it was tough being a broker))and the others since the 1982 climb-"Do not sell America short"-You make the "big bucks" buying (putting your money at risk NOT sitting on the fence when the cannons are otside the fort!
