An across the board tax cut like Bush is proposing (to almost everyone's opposition, btw) is the wrong thing at the wrong.

Would you support the tax cut if it was voluntary?

You keep making like the gains tax is a typical tax cut...it is not. An across the board tax cut like Bush is proposing (to almost everyone's opposition, btw) is the wrong thing at the wrong.

Any tax cut but an across the board one is a bad idea. Cutting rates for everyone decreases the burden of government on people. Keeping rates high while giving special breaks for certain groups, or if you do what government wants in certain situations just gives the government more control and makes complying with tax laws even harder. We are all ready at the point where frequently the IRS doesn't know for sure how much tax you really owe. You can get different answers from the IRS on the same tax question each time you ask if it is not a basic question.
