Looks like DDR is DEAR, DEAD, DEAD...LOL

theregister.co.uk

"Brookdale double data rate (DDR) memory won't arrive until Q1 of 2002 and Intel is advising both its channel and Dell to stock up on Rambus right now, in anticipation of future demand. "

And the P3 is dead. Looks like you won't have the P3 around to exploit anymore, Carl. From here on out its P4/RDRAM and only RDRAM:

"The roadmap we saw towards the end of last week demonstrates Intel's clear intent to eventually displace Pentium III processors with Pentium 4 and Foster technology. And the sooner the better, as far as the firm is concerned....The roadmap, which was shown to PC customers and distributors in November, starts by saying that there will be an accelerated ramp rate for the P4, and that Intel has a "90 per cent high confidence" in its revised schedules.

The ramp of the Pentium 4 will "cover all mainstream" segments by the end of next year, and Intel expects a crossover sales in early 2002."

LOL. I'm still freezing my @ss off waiting at the corner for your 'famous' Oct 31 DDR launch, big guy.

LOL
