Your willingness to equate racial genocide, on the one hand, with the termination of a pregnancy, which you must admit is a moral decision regarding which many very good and decent people hold widely different views, says a lot about the intensity of your position on this issue. The fact that it is a medical and moral issue, and one that allows for diametrically different views by good and honest people, dictates that it is an issue that government cannot encroach upon. The murder of people (not embryos or fetuses) is something we all agree upon. And I happen to believe that late term abortion of the type that PBA opponents are so worked up about is rare, and almost always limited to extreme circumstances involving serious health concerns, and not just personal convenience -- and that suggestions to the contrary are a myth. To the extent a late term (third trimester) abortion is carried out other than to protect the life of the mother, it is already illegal under Roe, and nobody suggests otherwise. Abortion rights advocates do not oppose all restrictions on PBA, as long as the restrictions that are adopted allow for the procedure under very limited circumstances.
