bruce,

Re. a sad day had to dump qcom...

That's okay, bruce. Market should be substantially better in six months if not sooner, you can then replenish all the lost Q shares.

Too bad we can overcome the millenium yearend curse. market is currently quite emotional; I don't believe the economy has slowed that much.

bruce, I'm sorry you had to give up some Q! to cover margin. The only thing's that saved me is that I short some stuff about a month ago as a hedge and have felt relatively little pain. I think however, that your situation is very important in that if you had to cough up some Q! which we all hold very dear to meet a margin call, just think about all those that were on margin that are newer to this game and have less conviction about their investments. They must be all gone by now and the margin selling is what we've been waiting for to end this carnage. This really smells like a bottom here although you're not supposed to try and catch a falling knife. I'll start covering some shorts tomorrow and hold on with white knuckles. Thanks for sharing your predicament with us. I feel that your story is very important in helping gauge where the market is at this time.
