On the other hand, given the market psychology the way it has been, I speculate that NAZ would've tanked anyway were the expected rate cut been in place. That would be DISASTROUS in my opinion.

I agree...if they had cut rates yesterday, people would have started asking themselves if it is even worse than they thought. It would have been too much of a reversal.
It will seem less panciky if they do it sometime after the first of the year.

Of course, at the current rate, the NAZ will be at zero by then ;-)....
