No disagreement here on that analogy. Still, you've proved what I was trying to say. While there is a statistically significant range that you can apply, there are lots of good reasons why it may appear outside of that range at any given time.
Unfortunately, knowing what those reasons are is something physicists have yet to determine....sort've like why we economists have yet to find a way to explain (really explain) overblown and undercapitalized markets.

Sure, we have rough approximations of what those reasons may be, but it's doubtful you'll ever be able to apply them in meaningful ways.

The beauty of chaos......or, as I'm more fond of saying, complexity. You can measure it until it's unmeasurable. After that, there is still something there.....
