We unconditionally deny that Enhanced TV infringes on anyone's copyright," a Disney spokeswoman said. "Enhanced TV was developed in-house and completely independently."

Gee, I wonder who this "spokeswoman" was. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a difference between a copyright and a patent? And the fact that Enhanced TV was developed "in-house and completely independently" hardly matters in a patent suit. The fact is, ACTV's patents precede the work done by Disney. I guess that will remain to be proven in court.

I'm excited by this move. The conclusion will cause ACTV to be known as THE interactive TV company or it will go down in flames...

wlcnyc,

re:.."We unconditionally deny that Enhanced TV infringes on anyone's copyright," a Disney spokeswoman said. "Enhanced TV was developed in-house and completely independently." ...."

OT: This is not the first time that Disney "stole" another's idea. When they built Wide World of Sports, they used a set of plans submitted years before. A month or so ago, they had to pay a hefty, court-ordered penalty to the originators.
