Sharp-
As I said, I wasn't trying to promote the NG argument. However, you have pointed out, rightfully so, that the situation is growing more dire as time goes by.
Frankly, it is a case of THE FUNDAMERNTALS DO MATTER. I've read the contrary on this board and the writer couldn't be more wrong.
The fundamentals may change. Let them. Until there is even a hint of that happening, we are at the mercy of the weather. And.....so far, that ain't easing the shortage.

Bigger Orifices ?

" Don't tell me producers aren't tempted to go with one or two orifice sizes bigger to achieve a harder drawdown with $9 gas - within the limits of
physical damage to the wells (they hope). "

I know one company that told me they we doing exactly that -
taking the risk at the high prices. They may loose a well or two, but gain overall. They carefully select the wells, however.
