possible...but major cycles only bottom in late January. any rally from here will likely bring back complacency quickly and hopes for the January effect..aside from the technical damage, the broad market does imo not yet discount the deteriorating fundamentals. note, we're right at mid '99 levels, when the economic outlook still seemed bright. yes, the tightening cycle had just begun (if you can call it that in view of the backdoor liquidity splurges), but the consensus was it wouldn't go very far. i notice Dow stocks of all stripes can warn with impunity...
