That copper is allowing AMD's .18 processor to slaughter Intel's .18 processor? You bet I am.

AMD is getting between 20% and 30% better performance from its copper .18 processors than its aluminum .18 processors. If Intel hadn't sat on its butt while IBM, AMD, and everybody else was moving to copper, Intel wouldn't be at such a disadvantage now. This time Intel is watching from the sidelines as IBM, AMD, and everybody else moves to SOI. Just as it claimed copper wouldn't help on .18, this time Intel is claiming SOI doesn't help on .13.
