Re: "AMD is getting between 20% and 30% better performance from its copper .18 processors than its aluminum .18 processors"

WRONG !!!!

AMD can't even produce 1.2 GHz ThumperTurds on their copper process - they are simple Paper Products !

Meanwhile, Intel is pumping out 1.4 and 1.5 GHz Pentium 4s by the hundreds of thousands.

Re: "This time Intel is watching from the sidelines as IBM, AMD, and everybody else moves to SOI. Just as it claimed copper wouldn't help on .18, this time Intel is claiming SOI doesn't help on .13. "

No - Intel has a 0.13 micron copper process nearly ready to go into production.

AMD and IBM are chasing the Next Big Brass Ring - and once again AMD will be LATE to market due to the complexity of adding too many new variables and precess steps to their 0.13 micron process.

Face it - even AMD is talking 2002 for 0.13 micron production.
