Regarding the fact that 90 percent of the gains are achieved in less than 10 percent of the daily sessions, Peter Lynch covered that concept real well as I recall in "Beating the Street". It now feels like a good time to go back to the basics so I may review that book over the holidays. It's almost my favorite investment book. <g>

A question for the curiosity...

I agree with you with the philosophy to stay in the market and avoid timing it. Having said that, how would the individual do if he had missed the 30 worst days and 30 best days over the same time frames?
