>>I'll be watching the parking lots to see if there is any last moment buying rushes .. <<

I think it is selective by store. I went shopping last night and the Boise mall was so packed that cars were parking across the street due to lack of parking in the mall lot. On the other hand, the ToysRUs lot which is usually full this time of year was only half full and many of those were from people parking there and walking across the street to the mall. I decided not get malled so I can't tell you what they were buying in there. Shopko was busy but not terribly so. On the other hand, Wal-Mark was as packed as I had ever seen it. From what I saw in the carts at wallyworld as I call it, it seemed most were buying for spouses. I saw a lot of tools etc but not many big ticket items. Mostly wrenches, cheap hydraulic jacks etc.

What I notice this year is there are no real must have mania items. My kids got the "normal" stuff this year, no "in" items. Race car track, trucks etc for the boy and dolls, computer learning games etc for the daughter. The wife and I don't want anything this year and so far, we are only getting lumps of coal. -ggg- Seriously, neither of us wants anything we can afford so no big spending this year from this household.

Good Luck,

Lee
