<<he doesn't drive [never has, you know the southerners, stubborn]>>

That's not stubborn, it's it's UNAMERICAN.

<<I did promise him that snow angel though

should just bite the bullet and get it over with>>

Wear something with a hood. And have they hood up.

that snow angel

One of the Christmas cards I received last year and saved has a picture taken from a painting titled "Angels In The Snow". It's a snow-covered scene with a white farmhouse in the background and a sloping front yard adorned with four fresh snow angels and a child who is just completing a fifth angel and a dachshund that is making (dragging) its way through the snow. Having spent all my 58 winters in the southern half of Texas, it took me a moment to figure out what the impressions in the snow were.

I found the picture on the web, although it's a poor-quality image relative to the one on the card. Note that the child is following Ish's advice and wearing a coat with a hood in the up position.

I hope your snow angel came out perfectly for your dad- I think that is the loveliest image- a grown daughter out in the snow making an angel for her father.
There are so many wonderful memories associated with snow, but I have a feeling that the wonder is in part due to my 'membering being done while sipping a glass of wine in a warm house.
