That's simply not true. Hundreds if not thousands of Itanium systems are in the field. That's not vapor. And what's more significant is that Compaq, owners of the 64-bit Alpha product line, are calling Intel's IA64 architecture "Industry Standard". That's as good as SUN calling Intel's architecture Industry Standard.
