<<But maybe this year's family gathering will somehow give you an opportunity to be upgraded to ... a light gray sheep? >>

I have absolutely no desire in that direction.

I had been in business with a person who became a good friend of my cousin's. He came to me and demanded to be bought out for x$. Had a lawyer and threatened to sue me. Not to mention he was violating 6 provisions he had put into the partnership agreement. He was going to open competing business with his brother-in-law.

I paid him every dime he asked and sold the business, which had a higher profit with him gone, for a real tidy sum a year later. He went bankrupt and I retired at 31.

Somehow by doing what he asked I cheated him, or that was the story. The story was always sung with the tune and I'm doing a lot of church work and am an usher so you can believe me.

What got my goat was not ONE family member ever asked me what happened. Now a couple of them know but they're not saying anything and I get along with those two, like we visit but it's not mentioned.

What's really funny was when my mother died, the ones that have the most hate were Johnny on the Spot asking for this and that. I gave them what they wanted. Well not the two carat diamond. I find it best to go through life not giving a rat's stinky butt about what people in general think about me.
